Knight's Templar
In the 1300’s the Knight’s Templar was England's most powerful and religious military force. They protected Christian Pilgrims as they traveled to the Holy Land. This period was called King Richard I’s Crusades. The Crusades began around 1070 when Pope Urban called for the people to fight against the Arabs. The Crusades ended in 1291.

Jaques de Molay- the last Grand Master
On October 13, 1307, King Phillip and the Pope ordered that every single Templar should be arrested. On March 14, 1314, the Templar’s grandmaster Jacques de Molay was burned to death. Before he died, he asked God to have King Phillip IV and Pope Clement join him within a year. Pope Clement died a month later and King Phillip died seven months later.

The people of the Templar were monks. Women were prohibited from being members. Presently, there are Templars that still exist. Some of the groups are very unlike the original Templar, and some claim that they are in direct correlation with the original Knight’s Templar. However, “officially”, the Knight’s Templar did not exist after March 22, 1314, when Pope Clement IV gave out the Papal Bull which dissolved the Templar forever. The Templar was highly regarded. There were myths that stated that the Templar practiced Black Magic, magic with an evil purpose, and were in possession of the Holy Grail, believed to be the cup used by Jesus Christ at the Last Supper.
