The highest order of chivalry at the court of King Arthur was the Order of the Knights of the Round Table. Its members were the finest English knights. Its chief exploit was the quest for the Holy Grail, which was eventually found, according to legend, by Sir Gallahad. The shape of the Round Table ensured that all who sat around it were equals. The order consisted of 150 members. Despite the rules of conduct, many of the members were constantly turning against each other. Hardly anything has ever been confirmed factual about the Arthurian legend.
