The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn was founded from two different organizations, the Stella Matutina and the Alpha et Omega. Stella Matutina rejected the United Kingdom before World War II (the U. K. was excluded from their teachings), but many people did not favor this. The two organizations merged and became a new group, the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. Both of the founders, Mathers and Dr. Wescott, were important teachers and influencers in the order. Mathers was even responsible for a Rosicrucian inner order in the Golden Dawn. Mathers and Dr. Wescott both taught magic to everyone in the fraternity. The two inspired many followers to take on their occult practices, and they made an impact on how people rationalize by promoting questions such as: What if everything does not happen for a reason? What if your lives are controlled by magic?
