On June 25,1717, four lodges united in London and formed a “super” lodge. It is still known as the Grand Lodge of England and is considered the headquarters of Freemasonry. Throughout the world there are many grand lodges of Freemasonry, but the Grand Lodge of England is the “mother” of all Freemasonry lodges.

Some wonder why the Roman Catholic Church dislikes and often does not allow Freemasons to be a part of the Roman Catholic Church. The Roman Catholic Church believe anyone who joins this brotherhood is a sinner and is excommunicated from the church. The reason for excommunication is because the belief that the Freemasons’ constitution imposes the belief in a pagan religion. The Roman Catholic Church believes that the Freemasons are “concerned solely of the individual.” However, many lodges allow their members to stay with their church and welcome Christianity. One reason that some people do not like the Freemasons is because there are books that berate the organization. What Anti-Masonry Party writes is not necessarily true about the Masons. Some printed information intends to vilify the Freemasons.
