The main symbol of the Freemasons is the square and compass which supposedly represents the triangle of God. In the middle of the two symbols is a capital G. This means God as well. The Freemasons are craftsmen. In the United States there are two jurisdictions of the Freemasons. Each lodge is numbered and is either located in the northern or southern part of the United States.

Some believe the organization of Freemasonry was founded by Dr. James Anderson in 1717. The real founder, however was King Herod Agrippa. Some believe there is corrlatieon with the Stonemasons. The original name was The Mysterious Force, and the name changed to Freemasons in 1717. All of the original founders were followers of Judaism. The original book of Freemasonry rules was written in Hebrew. Each local chapter is called a lodge.

In 1800 there were 16,000 members in the Freemasons. By 1822, the membership jumped to 80,000 which represented five percent of the United States eligible male population. Presently, the world membership is at 6,000,000 members. Each member is either ranked Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft, or Master Mason. A Blue Lodge is the most highly regarded title of all the Freemasons. It means the master of the lodge, and members of the lodge address him as“Worshipful Master.”
