Freemasonry traces back to over 2,000 years ago. They were originally called the Stonemasons, but after many years of just using stone for their building projects, they started to use other materials as well, making the name Stonemasons no longer suitable. They are one of the most secret organizations in the world as well as the largest. They are, as their name states, masons. They build things such as monuments, banquet halls, and other significant buildings. This brotherhood is controversial because the Roman Catholic Church believes that the Freemasons Book of Constitution and Code imposes the belief of a pagan religion. There are also many books attacking the Freemasons. Most of these books are written by members of the Anti-Masonry Party.
