The Bohemian Grove was started in 1873 by men who wanted more culture than was found in their time. Today it is a meeting place for the world’s leaders, who meet in the Redwood Forest in California for a two-week retreat every July. Its members wear black, red, and silver cloaks. Little is known about the Bohemian Grove because few have infiltrated it and been allowed to tell the story. It is an all male organization located in Monte Rio, Sonoma County, California. Ceremonial rituals are carried out around a forty-foot concrete owl. The property owned by the grove is 2700 acres. It is headquartered in San Francisco, California, in the Bohemian Building.
