• What is minyan?
In Jewish worship, where women are excluded, there must be a minimum amount (quota) of people attending once everyone worshiping has gathered. Counted toward the minimum are ten people fourteen years of age and up. Recently, however, votes have been taken to allow women into the count. If the quota is not met, people return home or go to a synagogue to pray privately.
