| Yad Vashem, Israel's
Holocaust Museum, is part of the National Authority for the Remembrance of the Martyrs
and Heroes of the Holocaust.
Israel’s Parliment established it in 1953 to commemorate the
Jewish people who died under the Nazis, during the years 1933-1945. It
contains the world's largest source of information about the
Holocaust. |

| Located on Har
Hazikaron, Hebrew for "Hill of Remembrance," it is around the
western ridge of Jerusalem. In this
area is a historical museum, with artifacts, monuments, and a
library for research for the dedication and remembrance of the
Holocaust. The reason for Yad Vashem is to preserve the memories
for future generations so that hopefully something as horrible as
the Jewish Holocaust will never happen again. |
