Muslim Marriage
A wedding is seen as a blessed act and couples are encouraged to marry as soon as they can support a family. Muhammad once said, “When a servant of Allah marries, he fulfills half of his duty as a Muslim. To fulfill the other half he has to follow the path of Islam.
An Islam Marriage
Many young muslim's marriages are arranged. However, it is considered against Islamic tradition to force anyone to marry against their will. Contrary to Western culture, in which people fall in love and then marry, in Muslim culture, people get married and then fall in love.
An Islam Marriage Contract
Marriage has to have the consent of both the man and the woman. Two adult witnesses must be present at the ceremony. A religious teacher or a preacher is usually wanted, but anyone with knowledge of the Islamic tradition of marriage can perform the ceremony.
An Islam Marriage Contract
It is a tradition for the groom to give his bride-to-be a nice gift or present such as money or land. It is also desirable, if families are wealthy enough, to have lavish and luxurious weddings.
