Celebrating Maulid an- Nabi
Maulid an-Nabi is a holiday that marks the birth of Muhammad. Some Muslims hold group dinners to celebrate this happy holiday.

An Artist's Depiction ofThe Night of the Journey and Ascension
Laylat ul- Isra wal Miraj, the Night of the Journey and Ascension, is spent reflecting upon one’s actions and one’s general deeds. Muslims celebrate this holiday because they believe one night Gabriel took Muhammad to Jerusalem. There he prayed with other prophets. Gabriel then took Muhammad to heaven where Allah told him that Muslims must pray five times daily. During this holiday, Muslims pray and read the Koran.
Laylat ul-Isra
Some Muslims celebrate other holidays as well. However, these holidays are not as central as the previous ones mentioned. Holy days help Muslims to feel together and connected to everyone in the faith of Islam.
