According to Dictionary.com, "the Christian religion is founded on the life and teachings of Jesus. It is a monotheistic system of beliefs and practices based on the Old Testament and the teachings of Jesus as embodied in the New Testament and emphasizing the role of Jesus as savior."

Christianity is one of the five largest religions in the world. While Christianity has around 2.1 billion people, Islam has around1.2 billion people, Hinduism has 900 million people, Buddhism has 376 million people, African Traditional has about 100 million people and Judaism has around 14 million people. Christianity has three basic divisions. They are the Eastern Orthodox, the Roman Catholic and Protestant. There are many branches of the divisions that will be discussed in other workshops.

Christianity was founded after the death of Jesus Christ in about 33 A.D.. Christ was the self proclaimed Messiah of the Jewish people and founded Christianity. The religion is prominent in North and South America and Europe. The original languages of Christianity were Greek Aramaic and Latin. The usual places of worship for Christians are a Church, a chapel, a cathedral, a basilica or a meeting hall.
