In the home, shrines
range from full rooms… to simple shelves dedicated to the
deities. Puja, or worship, takes place three times a day; in
the early morning, at noon, and in the evening.
To the Hindu population, every act
committed by a person has religious value.

Household shrines are
common wherever a Hindu person lives. The shrine pictured above
belongs to a teenage girl living in America. Although she goes to a
Christian school, she holds firm to her Hindu beliefs. Her own
shrine is like a miniature temple, honoring over 100 Hindu gods.
Some of these gods include Ram, Krishna, Brahma, Radha, Laxmi,
Saraswati, Shiva, Vishnu, and many more.
Hindu children and adults alike, keep
their own personal shrines. They can vary in size and shape, and
not every Hindu person or family worship the same
gods.
