Hindu people celebrate
many holidays with festivals and parades. They express their
beliefs by following original traditions. Many are the same
holidays celebrated by other religions, but many are unique to the
culture. The following list is a list of their holidays and a
simplified description.

- Mahatma
Gandi- October 2nd- Hindu
people celebrate the birth of a major leader.
- Vasant
Panchami- A spring
festival.
- Holi-
Festival of colors. People wear old cloths, and squirt a solution
of dye and water on one another.
- Baisakhi-
April, May- Lunar New Year.
- Naag
Panchimi- July, August-
Festival during which Hindus honor the snake.
- Janmashtami-
August, September- Celebrates Krishnas birth.
- Dussehra-
October, November- Celebrates victory of good over evil.
- Diwali-
Festival of Lights. Follows Dussehra. Five day celbration, each day
having a different name and celebration activity. Fireworks light
the sky each night. Candles are found everywhere in the Hindu
household, lighting it before the sun comes up.
