Christianity People: Workshop 6C

A Christian wedding is a very special ceremony to the couple who is getting married. When a couple is getting married, they usually choose to invite many of their close friends and family. The bride wears a long white dress and the groom wears a tuxedo. The bride picks the bridesmaids and the flower girl, and the groom picks his best man and the ring bearer. The actual ceremony can be held in a church, in a home, or in another place of the couple’s choice. This “special place” can be chosen for its beauty or because of its romantic appeal. Usually, a representative of the Church goes to sign as a witness on the marriage license, which is required for a couple to have before they can get married. The license is later filed for a legal record of the marriage. There is often scripture reading, and the priest is usually the one to perform the ceremony. A wedding is very important to people because it is the union of a man and a woman to be together, hopefully for the rest of their lives.
