| The Old Testament
tells how the world was created, and it tells about God's Promise
to Abraham. The promise was that God would make Abraham (and his
descendants) into a great nation, and He would bless all nations
through Abraham. Abraham's descendants became the nation of Israel.
God had promised a blessing to all of His people, early in Genesis,
and that blessing was Jesus.
The New Testament consists of the four
Gospel books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and the books of
Acts, Romans, first and second Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians,
Philippians, Colossians, first and second Thessalonians, first and
second Timothy, Titus, and Philemon, which were written by the
apostle Paul. The other books are Hebrews, James, first and second
Peter, first, second and third John, Jude and
Revelation.

The New Testament
tells the story of Jesus' life and what He taught. It includes
letters to many different people that describe how the church was
founded and what principles it was built on. These letters were
written by Jesus' friends that were trustworthy and His true
followers. The last book in the New Testament is called Revelation.
It gives a prophesy about the future, and says that Jesus will
return to earth to again one day. |
