Reforming the Churches

As Christianity began to spread, people developed different ways to run the Church. The Roman Catholic Church began to make many reforms. One man named Martin Luther, a German monk, contibuted to much of the Roman Catholic reforms. He was appalled at the ways some of the priests were acting and thought the church was drifting away from Jesus' teachings.

New Forms of Christianity

Martin Luther contributed a great deal to new forms of Christianity. He and his followers did not like the way that the Popes conducted services. They eventually broke away from the Roman Catholic Church, and founded a new form of Christianity called Protestantism. All of the services were done in German and the Bible was soon translated into languages that many people could read.
