Global Perspectives

This team had its differences, as most teams do. However, ours were not large differences; our appearances and hometowns were not all that different from one another. The major difference was our opinions on religions when we first began this web site, World Religions. Beth, our researcher, respected the many different religions, and knew some of the basic facts and beliefs of each, though she did not really understand them. Michael, our “techie”, did not have an in-depth perspective of the many religions. Kaitlyn, our team captain, believed that Christianity was the only true religion and did not understand why there were others. Courtney, our photographer, was reluctant to even delve a little way into the various religions, but was determined to look at them with an unprejudiced eye. These were our major differences, and we used them as a team to develop our website web site.

The topic idea for this web site was chosen due to its worldwide outlook. Religions are not centered in one area; they branch out across the continents, entering the lives of those who occupy them. The diversity of the topic of World Religions was used to create a learning environment for people of one religion, so that they could learn about the other religions around them. Many students in our school and community belong to different religions. Some of these students were interviewed and their opinions were included in the website. Our team tried to learn about different religions and to share our understanding of other religions and ways of life.
