There is another theory that says Atlantis was destroyed by an earthquake. It is said that when Athens was going to try to take over Atlantis (about 25,000 years after Atlantis came about), the Athenians were caught in an earthquake. This earthquake demolished the entire army of the Athenian civilization as well as Atlantis itself.
