Magic Johnson
Magic Johnson was born on
August 14, 1959 in Lansing, Michigan. Magic Johnson got his fame
even in high school. In fact in high school he got his nick name,
Magic Johnson.
Magic Johnson played for the Lakers, and won them five total
Championships. He was a 6’ 9” point guard, and was a
championship winner in 1980, 1982, 1985, 1987, and 1988. He was a
big rival of the famous, Michael Jordan. He, like the many other
amazing athletes, was on the “Dream Team” in 1922.
Magic Johnson was an incredible athlete, his statistics are
incredible. He played in 906 games with 17,706 games. He had an
average of 19.5 points per game. He would rebound an average of 7.2
points per game. All great players have their days, and all great
days will come to an end. November 7, 1991 was the day that Mr.
Johnson would announce that he had AIDS. He told them that he would
be retiring after his twelve memorable years with the Lakers. The
nation watched in awe, and Lakers fans couldn’t help but
wonder if it was all a bad dream.
