Charles Barkley

Charles was born on February 20, 1963. He was born in Leeds, Alabama. He played College Basketball for the Auburn University. At college he would show that he was NBA material.
He began his NBA career in 1984 with Philadelphia 76ers. In his rookie year however Barkley had an eating disorder. In his college year Charles weighed over 300 pounds. He overcame his disorder Barkley never won a championship with the sixers, but he was known for his aggressive rebounding tactics. In his years with the 76ers Barkley averaged 24.3 points per game. He went to the Olympic dream team in 1992, winning a golden medal. He was then later traded to the Phoenix Suns in 1992. During his years with the Suns Barkley became a key player on the Suns trip to the NBA finals, by averaging 25 points. Barkley was then a winner in the 2006 Olympic Games. In 1997 Barkley was traded to the Rockets. He wanted a Championship, but he could not pull it in. He would later have back injuries and would retire in 2000. Barkley played in the all star game 9 times. He averaged 23 points total in his career. He played a total of 1,017 games. He had 23,757 points, 888 blocks, and 1,648 total steals in his career. Barkley is now retired and quite active with many other things.
