Mysteries and Phenomenons
UFOs
Quick Facts:
UFO stands for Unidentified Flying Objects.
Many supposed UFOs have been seen over the years.
Many UFOs are easily explained for, but just as many cannot be explained for.
Between 5 and 25% of all UFO sightings cannot be explained for or be identified.
UFOs have been seen all around the world.
Here are four stories of UFO sightings.
1. Roswell New Mexico
Nine UFO’s were seen by American Pilot Kenneth Arnold. Eight days later,
a supposed UFO landed and crashed in Roswell, New Mexico. Thirty years later,
a report was written, and many people believed that an alien body had been
found and that it had been hidden by the government. It was later reveled
in 1994 that it had been a top-secret high-tech weather balloon. The “alien
bodies” were revealed to be dummies form the test flight. When people
did not believe the government, the Air Force published another report titled
“The Roswell Report: Case Closed.”
2. Minsk, U.S.S.R.
In 1984, a Soviet Aeroflot was making a routine flight, when they encountered
a sphere of light that followed them for a few minutes. It was reported to
have repeatedly changed shape during the flight. Many years later, another
report was filed that a second crew had also seen this “UFO”.
The tower that had the plane on radar also had a strange ‘second’
object on radar. A Soviet missile was launched that day, and UFO fanatics
believed that it was sent to intercept this UFO. UFO enthusiasts also got
excited when the crew members of the second flight all had strange deaths
shortly after the sighting. One died of heart problems, the other of cancer,
and yet another of a rare skin disease. Most people, however, believed that
these were only strange coincidences. In the end, the government blamed the
sighting on light refracting off of some space garbage.
3. Bentwaters, England
In 1980, security guards in a U.S. Air Force base in the U.K. reported seeing
strange lights in the forest at night. The guards, armed with a two-way radio,
went into the forest to investigate. As they saw a 30-foot tall craft, and
then their radios went dead. When people went back the next day, they found
a broken tree branch, some indents in the soil, and radiation levels were
25 times higher than normal. While everyone could explain the branch and the
soil indents from high winds or some random object, no one could explain why
the radiation levels were so high. Further investigations revealed that, in
1956, there was a sighting of an unidentified craft going approximately 9000
miles per hour. This convinced many people that UFO’s do exist.
4. St. Louis, Missouri
An American Airlines flight was going from San Diego to St. Louis. On route,
the pilot and the co-pilot saw four UFOs, one large one in the lead and three
smaller ones trailing behind. They formed a square. A controller in the St.
Louis airport tower said that there were unidentified targets on the radar,
but only two of them were there. Another plane about eight miles behind them
also saw the UFO’s, and a Air National Guard fighter jet also saw the
UFOs, saying, "Damn, they almost got me." Some people thought that
it was a meteor or a fireball that was seen from Illinois to Iowa, but the
UFOs were seen around 4 pm and the meteor wasn’t seen until 6 pm. The
traffic controller on board, who reported the time, must have forgotten to
change his watch, because the local time was about 6 pm, making it look like
the Iowa Fireball. The two unidentified objects on the radar may have just
been other planes, as altitude and identification were not on the radars;
they just showed where something was.
Many people have no explanation of how some strange
things happened when supposed UFOs appear, and there are many people who think
that the government has contacted UFOs and is trying to keep people from knowing
about it. Many pictures of UFOs are just phonies, but there are also many
of them that people cannot explain why something looked that way. UFOs have
been around for a long time, and some are seen in the hieroglyphs in Ancient
Egypt. People believe that aliens visited the Egyptians because there are
some hieroglyphs that look very much like modern airplanes and helicopters.
Also, there are some people depicted with larger abdomens, elongated bodies,
or very long fingers, while everyone else looks normal. Yet another question
that some people ask is why would the Egyptians build a large pyramid for
one person? They were very smart, so why would they build some of the biggest
buildings of the time for one person to be buried in? Some people think that
these are valid questions, while others do not believe in anything related
to UFOs. What you believe, whatever it may be, is up to you to decide.
