"Rent" is
another rock and roll Broadway show that will knock you off your
seat! This show is also a musical about young artists trying to make
it big in life. The story takes place in New York City. These artists
sing about controversial topics such as drugs, AIDS, and homelessness.
They are living in downtown New York and are refusing to pay rent.
The show describes the friendship of different types of people. As
the young artists are trying to grab a hold of life their parents
talk on the phone about not letting them go.
This show has also won many Tony awards such as Award for Best Musical. The
show also received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The performers worked
hard as well as the shows creator Larson. But a tragedy happened the night
before their first performance. Larson had died. This show was his last
and will never be forgotten. This show is for mature teens and adults.
