Fiddler On The Roof

Fiddler On The RoofThis fantastic show brings joy and a touch of sadness to all audiences. It describes the traditions that bring a family together. The story takes place in the Russian village of Anatevka. The main character is Tevye, a poor diaryman. He tries to explain the traditions of his Jewish community to his five daughters while that community is beginning to change.

Fiddler On The Roof makes the viewer feel all different emotions such as humor, honesty, warmth, sorrow, but above all, love. This Broadway show is very historical and very educational. It tends to touch all audiences. The show is also full of meaningful songs as well three of which are "Sunrise Sunset", "If I Were A Rich Man", and "Matchmaker". The show is about two hours and fifty minutes, with one intermission. What makes this show a little more interesting is that the British director worked with the original authors to get the real Fiddler On The Roof on stage! The show also boasted happily to have Harvey Fierstein, Tony winner, perform as Tevye! This show is full of excitement to entertain all! Sadly, it has since closed.

Fiddler on the Roof was shown in the Minskoff Theatre on 200 West 45th St.
