Before we started on this project, we made a trip down to the NEWater Treatment Plant located in Bedok to learn more about the process of creating NEWater.

When we reached there, we were given a brief summary on the importance of water to life and the water situation in Singapore. We also learnt about where the water in our taps originated from and also how the idea for water reclamation came about. Before we moved on, the guide told us roughly what to expect for the rest of the trip.

We then moved into a mini theatre where we watched a movie clip on the water cycle and details on the process of how water is reclaimed and transformed into potable water. We were also distributed free bottles of NEWater.

We took a sip of the water and thought that it tasted slightly weird. There was this slight metallic flavour which we couldn't really get quite accustomed to.
