The world has witnessed the
climatic advent of modern integration in the fields of entertainment industry. Great artists and creative thinkers alike gave life to animation in hopes of transcending the boundaries of norms that governed our past. The existence of animation through various mediums made the public aware that there was more to what was presented to the eye, that now, the naturalness of the living could be embodied by computer codes, complex frames and software applications. Of course, animation could not have been made possible if it was not for the most essential thing-an awareness of the imagination each of us possesses.
What
could be a constructive source more inherent than our imagination? To
imagine of something far beyond what we are accustomed to is definitely
worthy of use. We must not mistake imagination with daydreams or silly
flights of fancy for a person of imagination uses his mind to the utmost
benefit.

Considering
this, animation served and continues to serve as a tool to harness our
imagination, because to animate in the social sense means to quicken, to
inspire, to vivify. Animation has a purpose and the ways to achieve it
are limitless.
As mentioned, the concept for animation did not simply spring up from anywhere. Originating from a brilliant pool of talent, it had proven itself on equal footing with the traditional methods of creating cartoons, videos and moving pictures but not before going through several trials. Its exposition did not easily come to pass.
Some decades back, traditional artists were not lenient in allowing computers and other technologies to tamper with what they considered as something to be done by hand. They created animated cartoons by laboriously drawing every frame with only paper and ink to assist them. That is why large multimedia companies usually produced cartoons for viewing only after a long interval of time since creating a single one would take up a minimum of 12 months, a huge number of capable artists and a maximum of 50, 000 papers.
The use of animation was looked down upon, and critics used to say that an animated film would never earn enough even just to cover for its own operating and production expenses. Over the years, several animated films topped the box-office hit charts and earned the highest gross sales, proving that this medium has become a fierce competitor in the world of entertainment industry.
This is a powerful tool-animation. It boots the brain for creative critical thinking, gives free rein to aesthetic passions and ideally harnesses the imagination. It is the fulfilment of our conceptual dreams.
