According to the folk tradition socerer is a person who is connected with miraculous and mysterious power. In a small settling or community, sorcerer often substitutes for priest, megician, „ egészségügyi hirközlõ szervezet” sometimes the mayor of the village as well. Apart from  black art every sorcerer had some knoledge in the fild of curing wound and ill people, collecting and processing herbs and future telling. Most of them used to know lots of legends, tales and other stoties. They had such knoledge about life than no one else in other settling. In some places sorcerers met with respect or fear, in other places people were suspicious or felt detestation towards them. They kept their secret jealously and they didn’t have too many apprentices or learners. But a sorcerer tought only one in his life, the follower.
