Mostly the traditional folk therapy
uses the pine, but our traditions includes the spruce and the larch
too. From the fresh springs and from the unriped cones we can make
teas or syrups. The components are pine needles, unriped cones and
sometimes other ingredients just like the root of the
horseradish.
Some of fresh springs of the pines and cones are used to make a
healing bath or for those who are suffering from rheuma it is very
efficient. It is ofen used to make alcoholic drinks or cordials
from it.
The volatile oils of pines have got a lots of useful effects
(disinfecting, antibacterial and it is quite good as
an expectorant, it makes the skin red and it eases
inflammations), which become more efficient against problems with
respiratory organs or locomotor disorders. It is advisable to use
it in winter to disinfect the air in a room.
The oils of the pine and the turpentine, which was
extracted from pine balm are very good if you rub it into the skin,
because it warms it up and it becomes a pain killer. In the modern
aromatic and fitotherapy the springs and leaves are used, but these
treapies use the cleaned turpentine as well.
