extra large or jumbo. But, do you know how farmers get eggs of
different sizes? The size of an egg depends on the chicken's age.
Youngest hens will lay the smallest eggs and oldest hens will lay
the largest eggs. To make sure they get different sizes, farmers
keep chicken of different ages. By the way, the size is based on
the weight of an egg!

From the chicken soup to fancy dishes to fast food, there is
chicken for every taste. Most common methods of cooking
include baking, frying, and roasting. Many farms raise chicken just
for food. These chicken are called broilers broiler or fryer is a
young meat-type chicken that can be cooked tender by broiling or
frying and usually weighing between 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 pounds.
Usually, broilers are butchered when they are young, sometimes as

People use all parts of chicken for food
preparation, but some parts are used more often. Most often used
parts are the ones that have muscles such as breast, legs or
thighs. Other parts are used as well, and in many cultures are
considered delicacies. Livers and gizzards are used for gravies,
pates or other processed food. Chicken feet are not often eaten,
and neither are internal parts. But there are exceptions. For
example, in some Chinese dishes the entire chicken including the
head and internal organs is served.
