EGG FACTS


The older the hen, the more fragile is the shell of an egg. For that reasons older hens "retire" after about two years of laying eggs on the layer farm.

If you have a hard time peeling the hard boiled egg, that means the egg is really fresh. Eggs stored in the refrigerator for few days will peel easier.
The only difference between white and brown egg is the color of the chicken that laid them. White Leghorns lay white eggs and Brown Leghorns lay brown eggs.
Brown eggs are usually more expensive. This is not because they are better eggs. This is because Brown Leghorns eat more, so it costs more to feed them.
