Did You Know?
It took our team 7 months to complete this project. We estimate that it took about 5 hours for each page (including research, writing, design and proofreading). This means that we spent about 350 hours working on this project.
We hope you like it!

Team
Our team worked for a long time on this web site. It all started with our interest in avian flu and how will it affect us. Most of us live in the cities and do not really know much about chicken. So, this topic was a new subject for us. Our team is made up of six students from three different schools in two different countries. Therefore, we could not meet as a team face to face. We used think.com to help us communicate. We all researched and wrote content, but we also knew that each one of us has strengths that can help our team. Therefore, to make our job easier we divided responsibilities among team members.
BIANCA
Bianca was our team captain. She helped us organize and divide the research and writing. She often checked our progress through e-mails. Bianca also did a lot of research, especially about avian flu, chicken diseases and economy. In addition, she helped work on other topics when needed.

ROBERT
Robert's main responsibility was web design. He came up with our site design and navigation. He also created image maps and flash installed video and scripts. He worked on the tables and colors and made sure that links work properly. In addition, he took and edited pictures as well as did research in areas of anatomy, history, issues, and farming
TRENTON
This was Trenton's first Thinkquest. Trenton actually hatched the chicken and followed them from egg to birth. He took many pictures and research and wrote the hatching part. Trenton also worked on nutrition, and breeds.
SCOTT
Scott was also new to Thinkquest. His research was mostly about nutrition value of eggs and chickens, preparation methods and safe handling of eggs and chicken. Scott also assisted with anatomy and issues.
BORNA
Borna's area of research was traditions, farming and issues. He visited farm in Croatia and created great pictures. He also wrote about issues and farming ands assisted on avian flu and other topics.
JACKIE
Jackie was our main artist. She drew the pictures on combs, career and issues pages. She also researched economy and careers in chicken industry. Part of her responsibility was also editing of photographs and video for our site.

While we did not communicate in person a lot, we worked well together because we were all committed to completing this site. Along the way we had to overcome several challenges. For example, some of the people new to Thinkquest had to learn a lot about web design so the more experienced people assisted them and helped them learn. When someone fell behind other team members pitched in. For example, when Bianca got sick, Robert finished up her disease Javascript and installed it. We also encouraged and motivated each other. We feel that this web site was truly a team effort.
