Wilt Chamberlain was born on August 21, 1936 in Philadelphia and died on October 12, 1999. Here are some of his pro-playing highlights: he was the MVP (1960, 66, 1967-68); NBA Finals MVP (1972); NBA All-Star MVP (1960) after scoring 23 points and 25 rebounds; holds the NBA Finals record for most rebounds (41, April 5, 1967 vs. Boston); scored 53 points as a rookie against Syracuse (March 14, 1960); holds the single-game All-Star record for points (42) in 1962; scored 31,419 points (30.1 ppg) in 1,045 pro games. He was best in the league when he retired; currently second all-time behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
