Wilt Chamberlain Wilt Chamberlain was considered as one of the best players ever. He was born on August 21, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA and died October 12, 1999. He was 7-foot-1 and weighed 275 pounds. He became a basketball player on April 28, 1979.
Michael Jordan Michael Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 17, 1963. His parents, James and Delores Jordan, moved to Wilmington, NC, when he was young. Michael has two older brothers, one older sister and one younger sister. He loved basketball when he was young, but he also played football. His love for basketball started when his brother Larry kept on beating him in one-on-one pickup games. This helped him to become more determined to become a better player. Jordan played for Wilmington in high school, but amazingly he was cut from the varsity team as a sophomore. Michael left college and entered the NBA in 1984. He was picked as third in the draft, and that year he was the Rookie of the Year. Michael played in the 1992 Summer Olympics with the first original Dream Team. His team won the gold medal.
