In the early 1960’s woman had bouffant hair styles and knee-length skirts. While men had crew cuts and plaid button down the front shirts. In the mid 60’s women’s hair was either very very short or long. Go-go boots were often worn with miniskirts or hot pants which were revealing legs. On the other hand men’s hair was longer and wider than ever with moustaches and/or beards. Bright color double breasted jackets and turtle necks were also popular. Girls would wear peasant skirts, granny dresses, and chunky shoes. On the other hand unisex dressing was popular; bellbottom jeans, love beads, and embellished t-shirts and African Americans of both genders would have afros hairstyles.

G. I. Joe doll

The Barbie Doll, introduced in 1959 grew very popular and was a HUGE success in the sixties. The 11 ½ inch doll became the new thing to play with for girls.
While girls played with Barbie's, boys would play with 12” G.I. Joe dolls. G.I. Joe Joe dolls were the very first action figure for boys. They dolls were also Barbie’s toy making enemy.

There were many many popular names of the 1960’s some of the include Cheryl, Denise, Tina, Todd, George, and Douglas. Some other babies were name baby, M, T, and Unknown.
