The Minnesota Twins made it to the ALDS before being knocked out by the New York Yankees in 2004. They had a lot of young prospects including Lew Ford, Justin Morneau, Joe Mauer and Augie Ojeda. The star outfielders were Shannon Stewart, Jacque Jones and Torri Hunter. The fabulous pitching rotation was Johan Santana, Brad Radke, Carlos Silva and Kyle Loshe.

The Cy Young award is for the best pitcher in both American and National leagues. Johan Santana, a Twin, won the CY Young this year. Santana led the American League in strikeouts and wins. He was 2nd in ERAs. Joe Nathan was the only Twin in the all-star game, but Lew Ford was very close to making it.

The manager of the Twins is Ron Gardenhire. The Twins have an excellent farm system but, unfortunately they have a very low budget. A farm system is the minor leagues. If the Twins don’t get a new stadium they may be leaving the Twin Cities.
