The Beginnings of…

Chocolate
Once upon a time, in 1828 a man named Dutchman Conrad J. van Houten, found a way of extractin
g the fat of a cocoa bean and making it into cocoa powder and cocoa butter. He also processed the so-called, Dutch method of treating the chocolate with akali to remove the bitter taste. This made it possible to process the modern chocolate.

Years later, in the year of 1900, Milton S. Hershey introduces to the world, THE MILK CHOCOLATE BAR! He also starts the production of Sweethearts. These, delicious, mouth watering, vanilla sweet chocolates, even have a heart imprinted on the base! But sadly they were to be discontinued in 1931.

To this day, chocolate plays a big part in a happy person’s lifestyle. Now though, there are many different kinds of chocolate, such as Snickers, Crunch Bars, and even some chocolates from the movie “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”! In fact, I think I’ll go eat one right now!
Bye for Now!

Love,
A fellow Sweet Tooth
