Some species maybe native to certain regions of North America, but they arrive in new regions by spreading out of transportation. In some cases invasive plants arrive by accident, as seed in science products or on shipments from over seas. In other cases, invasive plants are selected from their horticultural attributes. Invasive species can prey on native ones, compete with them for resources, or altar an entire habitat and endanger a wide array of native life.
