Invasive Plants

of

New Hampshire

HELLO! We are going to tell you about invasive plants of New Hampshire! They are invading our state. If New Hampshire is one of the most livable states for people, it is also good for invasive plants, but we don' t want them in New Hampshire.

   What are invasive plants?

Invasive plants have been harmless in their native environments. Somewhere brought to America accidentally, but most of them were brought on purpose. If an invasive plant turns dangerous to the land and our use of it depends on the  area it happens. An invasive plant is able to grow and spread madly outside its regular range. An invasive plant can  be introduced to a new place and spreads faster...

Some species may be native to certain regions of North America were they are not invasive. Invasive species can prey on native ones, compete with them for resources. Pest may change an entire habitat and endanger a wide variety of native life. In some cases invasive plants arrive by accident, as seed in farming products or on shipments from overseas.  Many private organizations and government agencies are beginning to look at this very serious environmental problem. They are a problem because plants from other parts of the world are welcomed, controllable additions to our gardens. Some invasive plants: mile-a-minute, Purple Loose-Strife and  Kudzu choking other plant life.
