The purple loose-strife can get eaten by the Galerucella beetle. Also a lot of insects will eat the purple loose-strife. Beetles were released at the National Park Services to kill the purple loose-strife. They released beetles ( Galerucella Caimariensis and Galerucella Pusilla) are insect Herbivores that feed directly on the purple loose-strife and thus control , the invasive speices be decreasing plant vigor or actually  killing the plant. The beetles are approved for use by the state of New Hampshire and, in fact , the park received its beetles from the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture. The beetles were raised by the state of New Hampshire , through a partnership arrangement between the New Hampshire departments of corrections.
