and tiny yellow flowers. The fruit looks like an acorn. The Cinnamon
tree can grow as high as 30 feet. The inner bark curls up and grows
brown as it dries. The bark can be sold in stick or powder form. Oil
of Cinnamon is made from the fruit, leaves, and root.

| Gotu Kola, also known as Indian Pennywort,
is used to treat burns and wounds by topical and skin ulcers by intramuscular
injection. It can be used as a nerve tonic to encourage relaxation
and enhance memory. It was used in India and China over 2,000 years
ago. The herb has been used by Indian healers to treat skin inflammations
and as a diuretic. The plant is used for high blood pressure, senility,
aging, and against damage from some toxins though there is no scientific
proof. |
| Cataract roses,also called Rose(y) Periwinkle,
Pacifica Red, Madagascar Pariwinkle, and Parasol. in folk medicine
(medicine unconfirmed by science) are used to treat Diabetes and high
blood pressure. New studies by Prof. R. Mechoulam, Hebrew University
show that Catharanthus roses provide anti-nausea drugs to aid in chemotherapy.
It is can be used to treat wasp stings with juice from the leaves.
An extract of the boiled plant would stop bleeding, and an extract
of the flower is used as an eyewash. |
| Sundew is a carnivorous plant that has drops of sticky
fluid that are produced by the glands on it's leaves. Its small stem
has small white flowers. The leaves are round and the size of a small
coin. There are small red hair-like bristles on the leaves that have
glands and grow near the base of the plant. An insect may be easily
stuck to the drops of fluid and then the bristles fold in to the insect
and hold it. Next fluid covers the bug and suffocates it. The glands
on the bristles produce the juices to digest the victim. It lives
in bogs and marshes worldwide and can be ground and made into a tea
and drank for a treatment for whooping cough. |

Clove Tree, an evergreen tree, has purplish flowers that grow on
a jointed stalk. The flower buds are picked before they open. they
are reddish when picked but turn dark brown as they dry. The smooth
oblong leaves that come to a point and are ground and made into a
tea to help prevent vomiting and eliminate intestinal worms. |
