Summary:

Chapter 18

Bernard and Helmholtz say good bye to John and he asks to go with them, but Mond says that he wishes to Òcontinue the experimentÓ John responds by hiding himself into an abandoned lighthouse. He plants a garden and performs self punishment rituals. After one day being seen by two people, the media begins to plague him. After a while of media coverage Lenina come to him in a helicopter, and he whips her and when finally she leaves he collapses in a soma stupor. When he awakes the next day he remembers everything to his horror. A swarm of visitors comes to see him only to find that he had hung himself.
