Summary: Chapter 4 Lenina accepts BernardŐs invitation to go to the Savage Reservation, and Bernard acts strange, and suggests that they should discuss this in private. But Bernard feels bad about it, because Lenina didnŐt care about discussing her sexual life in public. Lenina sulks off to meet Henry, and they fly off on a date in HenryŐs helicopter. Bernard also goes flying, and meets up with his friend Helmholtz. Helmholtz and Bernard both have their own problems. Helmholtz believes that he could use his writing talent for something other than Hypnopaedic phrases. Bernard feels physically inadequate therefore their friendship is based upon their connection of inadequacy. As the men are talking Bernard becomes jumpy, because he believes that there is someone listening at his door. |
