Millenium Development Goals (MDG):
Have you heard of them? In the Millenium Year 2000, The United Nations and 189 Heads of State wrote down eight goals that are pledged to be achieved by year 2015 . These goals are set to make the world a better living place for everyone. It's purpose is to fight Poverty, Hunger, Child Mortality, HIV/Aids/Other Diseases, and to promote Primary Education, Gender Equality/Empowerment for Women, Good Maternal Health, Environmental Sustainability and Collaborations across countries and cultures.
Educational Purpose:
Several websites have been made around the world dealing with the MDGs, but none have been geared towards children. This website aims to introduce children the MDGs, and educate them about each goal in an interesting and fun way.
