Interest-Bearing Note

Have you ever seen an Interest Bearing Note? Interest Bearing notes are the rarest note in the United States! But why are they rare? Each note had a "maturity date," or the date that the owner could take it to the bank and collect the face value of the note plus some interest. People turned in most of the bills so that they could get the money and also the interest, so almost all Interest Bearing notes were returned to banks and taken out of circulation. There were none left to collect, so now they are very rare.
