Insomnia is a sleeping disorder that hinders a person’s ability to sleep well at night. Some of the symptoms are difficulty falling asleep, difficulty staying asleep during the night waking up very early in the morning and not feeling refreshed after a nights sleep. Poor sleep for any amount of time could cause mood disturbances, lack of motivation, shortened attention span, trouble concentrating, low energy and being tired. There are three type of insomnia.

· Transient insomnia- sleep difficulties that last for a few days instead of weeks. There is          little evidence that it impairs the person affected by it.
· Short term insomnia- Sleep difficulties that last for less than a month. Most people          affected by short-term insomnia are slightly affected during the day.
· Chronic insomnia- sleep difficulties that last for more than a month and severely affect persons.9% percent of people that have insomnia have chronic insomnia, 27% of people that have insomnia have Severe insomnia, and 64% of people do not have insomnia.
