Not much is known about the Greek Mathematician/Philosopher. Although what is known is
that he lived from 581-497BCE. Also we suspect that some of the discoveries credited to
Pythagoras could have actually been discovered by some of his students from his school. The
school he established in 518 in the city Croton (now Croton), were he is regarded as a cult
leader. One of his most famous discoveries was the Pythagorean Therom "The square of the
hypotenuse on a right angle triangle is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides [a²+b²=c²]"
One of his less known discoveries is of the musical scale which in turn creates a template for
music which today, we take for granted.
