Head
The skull is the bone which gives the head it's shape and protects the brain. It provides attachment points for muscles of the head and neck and helps form parts of the respiratory and digestive tracts. It rests on the vertebrae. At birth, the skull and head are large in comparison with the rest of the body. There are soft spots on the head where the skull hasn't grown together yet. The largest of these is a diamond-shaped area near the middle of the top of the head. Eventually, the skull will grow together and the soft spots will disappear.
