Kimono

What is kimono?  It is actually a very cool dress to wear, but a very confusing process to put on.

Kimono is a silk dress.  Some are colorful and some of the color are dull.  Kimono has a ton of extra parts that go with it.  Some of these parts include obi, obimakura, juban, date jima, obiita, koshihimo, and michiyuki.

Obi is a sash that you tie around your waist.  Tucked underneath this is the obiita and the date jima is under the obi.  Both of these things are useful if you wanted to keep your obi from getting wrinkled.  Also in the obi is a little pillow called obimakura.  This gives obi volume.  Juban is a thinner silk underwear worn under the kimono.  And to top it all off you put on a michiyuki which is a coat with no buttons at all.

Kimono is a very cool dress.  When you marry, you wear short sleeves and when you aren't married you wear long sleeves. These dresses can be worn with the japanese shoes called, geta.
