Introduction

There are always motives for actions taken by a country in her policies. These motives on the other hand are more often than not, for the benefit of the country executing the policies herself.

In this section, we will be looking at the motives for Great Britain to add Egypt into her growing empire. There are reasons in the first place that Great Britain wants to form an empire as stated in the Background Information section. This section shall look more closely at what precisely Egypt has to offer, and how she fell into British hands.
