Morse code is what people used to communicate out at sea or just when there weren't computers or E-mail. Morse code was very important to people.  It was invented by Samuel Finely Breeze Morse in 1838. Morse code is simply a different combination of dots and dashes for every letter of the alphabet. This enables the code to be used in many ways. It can be used with a flash light, whistle, or a Morse code unit. You can even click with your tongue to get the message across. Morse code was once used by making 3-D dots and dashes on a piece of paper. This helped inspire Louis Braille to create modern day Braille. The famous Titanic once tried to send a message of help out to a ship close by after they had hit an ice-berg. But the ship  had turned off their receiver for the night. They tried again by sending out flares, but the ship thought that the Titanic was merely doing a fire work display. The Titanic was never saved, but the famous :"SOS" was finally received, too late. To find the combination of dots and dashes they used, check out the above key for Morse code.
